Each Christmas we bless our community in different ways. We would like each family to choose one or more of these ways to give to others this Christmas season as part of our Advent Adventure.
ADVENT ADVENTURE
BLESSING OUR COMMUNITIES
Advent Adventure is an opportunity for NCC Families to demonstrate generosity and be a blessing to our community throughout the Christmas season. Each campus has different ways to participate which allows NCC to be blessing to multiple families and community organizations.
CAMPUS SPECIFIC OPPORTUNITIES

Every weekend NCC provides food for students who are experiencing food insecurity. The need becomes even greater during the two-week Christmas Break from school. Boxes of Hope provide enough food for this two-week vacation, so those students and their families have enough food.
Some of the students in our community don’t always get a gift for Christmas because they have a parent who is in jail. Angel Tree is a way for those children to receive a Christmas gift. These gifts not only help them feel like other kids, but it also helps them know that they are loved by our church and by Jesus.
NCC is partnering with YCAP (Yamhill Community Action Partnership) to provide local families in need with new socks, gloves, and hats to help keep people warm in the winter. Bring your new package of socks, gloves, and/or hats to NCC by December 11th and we will deliver that donation to YCAP to help families in Yamhill County.
Bring canned food to help fill the shelves at Newberg FISH. Newberg FISH helps families make sure they have enough food for each day. Please bring canned vegetables (corn, green beans, peas) or canned soup.
The holidays can be extremely hard for foster kids. NCC supports foster kids each year be collecting $20 gift cards that we are able to distribute to foster kids throughout Yamhill County. Please drop off at the church office by December 11.

We are partnering with Durham Elementary to help provide holiday meals for families with food insecurities. We are collecting $25 WinCo Family Friendly gift cards (these can only be used for food) which will be distributed to the families based on the number of kids in the family. Please return gift cards by December 11.

BOXES OF HOPE
AN ADVENT ADVENTURE OPPORTUNITY
We have the opportunity at Christmas time to provide hope to members of our community. Boxes of Hope provide food for local families during Christmas Break while the children are not receiving breakfast and lunch at school. Families are encouraged to take a Box of Hope and, using the attached shopping list, fill it with food. Boxes are due back to the church by December 11 so they can be delivered to the schools before Christmas Break begins.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Please take a box and fill it with the items on the list. This is a great way to teach your children about being generous to others.
It is important that only the items on the list are purchased for the box. We want each box to be the same so each family receives the same amount of food. lf one box is overflowing and a neighbor’s is “not-so-overflowing,” this is a difficult situation to explain.
PACKING LIST:
DUE BACK - DECEMBER 11TH | IN CAMPUS LOBBY
- 5 cans of vegetables (14-15oz) (corn, beans, peas)
- 1 plastic bottle of jelly (20-30oz)

FINANCIAL SUPPORT OPPORTUNITIES

God demonstrates His great generosity to us through Jesus’s birth, death and resurrection. We follow His example by giving sacrificially to introduce people to Jesus – The Light of the World. The ongoing work NCC is doing will continue to meet physical and emotional needs, but more importantly, point people to Jesus, the Light of the World. This year’s special Shine the Light Christmas offering will support three things:
GLOBAL GIVING
COMPASSION FIRST:
A ministry that provides long-term, hope-filled solutions for survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation both in Indonesia and Portland, Oregon.
LOCAL GIVING
NCC REFRIGERATED TRUCK:
This truck will help take our food distribution ministry even further into the community.
CAMPUS GIVING
NEWBERG – Stand Up Girl: Teenage Pregnancy Crisis Center
TIGARD – Road 2 Hope: Housing and Support for Single Mothers
MCMINNVILLE – Henderson House: services for victims of domestic and sexual violence
ONLINE GIVING
Our online giving portal, church center, lets you easily set up a recurring gift via your debit card, credit card, or checking account.
We encourage you to set up an automated giving schedule to have your “first fruits” go to the Lord every time.
