Counseling and Care - About Us - NCC
NCC is here to be a safe place for you as you walk through life’s challenges. If you are in need of support and encouragement, let us know!

Memory Keepers

The “Memory Keepers” is a care group for caregivers of dementia patients. This group is designed to provide a safe, judgement-free, confidential atmosphere of sharing for those who are caring for a family member suffering from dementia. It doesn’t matter if your family member resides in your home with you, or in a care facility.

It is open to the community, however, it is not led by medical professionals. It is in the style of a small study group and we use the Bible for our source of strength.

We meet on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month, from 2:00-3:30 pm at the Newberg campus in room 204 (the main building).

You are not alone.

GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone.

In-Person classes will resume in September.

If you have recently experienced a loss, we would like to support you during this time and help you create a meaningful memorial service to honor the life of your loved one.

Visitation

Spending time in a hospital or care home can be a difficult time for a patient, or for their family members.  If you or a family member would like a visit as you prepare for a hospital stay or are in recovery, please let us know.  We will be happy to talk with you, pray about your situation, and share words of encouragement.

You can reach us at care@mynw.cc or (503) 538-3104.

Life Groups

At Northwest Christian Church, we believe in being a church community that is great at caring for one another.  The primary way that we care for each other is through the solid relationships that are built in Life Groups.

Stephen Ministry

There are times when every one of us experiences difficulties; God never intended for us to go through these experiences alone.  Our Stephen Ministers are members of the church who have received special training to provide confidential one-on-one emotional and spiritual care for people who are hurting.  Stephen Ministers often care for those experiencing grief, loneliness, divorce, hospitalization, disability, job loss, and many other life difficulties.

To learn if you might benefit from this ministry, contact Mary Ruff and Linda Tompkins at stephenmin@mynw.cc

Pastoral Counseling

Our pastors are experienced in providing biblical counsel during difficult times.  One of our pastors will first meet with you to learn about your situation and needs, then they will work with you to create a care plan that addresses the difficulties you are facing.

If you would like to arrange a visit with one of our pastoral team, email your request to: care@mynw.cc or call (503) 538-3104.

Professional Christian Counseling

If you or your family is need of professional Christian counseling, a member of our pastoral care team will be happy to meet with you and make a recommendation for a trusted Christian counselor in collaboration with the Christian Counseling Centers of Oregon and Washington.  To arrange an appointment, email your request to: care@mynw.cc or call (503) 538-3104.
