MISSIONS OF HOPE | The Mathare Valley in Kenya
Missions of Hope International is a Christ-centered NGO which seeks to transform the lives of children and families living in the slums of Nairobi and beyond. NCC has partnered with directors Wallace and Mary Kamau to change the lives of our global neighbors living in extreme poverty. Through mission trips, financial support, sponsoring kids, opportunities for education and prayer, NCC seeks to communicate the love of Jesus through physical and spiritual support.
TIJUANA CHRISTIAN MISSION | Tijuana, Mexico
Every year our high school students and adults head to Mexico during Spring Break to serve in Tijuana. The yearly trip has created relationships between the Tijuana community and our Newberg community. Our high schoolers look forward to this trip and making connections, building, serving, playing, and doing life together for this week.
LIFELINE CHRISTIAN MISSION | Haiti/Honduras
We support the efforts of Lifeline Christian Mission to help meet physical and spiritual needs in Haiti, Honduras and El Salvador. After Hurricane Matthew in 2016, we partnered to provide water purifiers to people without access to safe water and have sent several short-term mission teams to serve alongside Lifeline. We’ve also collected shoes, supplies for kids, and our ladies have made quilts for the children in the orphanage.
KULPAHAR KIDS’ HOME | India
Founded in 1947, Kulpahar Kids’ Home and School cares for kids whose families may not otherwise be able to support them. Many children who originally came to Kulpahar are grown and married and living there with their own families. Almost 100 kids currently board at Kulpahar where they have opportunities to live in a safe environment, attend school, and hear about Jesus.
I.D.E.S in Beirut | Lebanon
IDES is a Christian organization that connects those who are hurting worldwide to those who have a heart of compassion. Since 1973, IDES has partnered with local churches in the U.S. and mission workers in more than 115 countries during times of crisis. IDES exists to meet physical and spiritual needs of suffering people throughout the world in the name of Jesus Christ.
COMPASSION FIRST | Indonesia and Oregon (human trafficking)
We partner with Compassion First, which cares for women and children who are victims of human sex trafficking with recovery homes which are currently in Indonesia. They also provide training for police teams in Indonesia to recognize and respond to trafficking. Compassion First also seeks to address this issue at a local level because human trafficking is a significant issue along the I-5 corridor and in our area alike.
