There are times when every one of us experiences difficulties. God never intended for us to go through these experiences alone.

What Is Stephen Ministry?

Christ, Caring For People Through People.

Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2, NRSV).

Stephen Ministry offers a proven and effective way to organize, equip, and supervise a team of congregation members—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, one-to-one, Christ-centered care to people in the congregation and the community experiencing life difficulties.

What Does a Stephen Minister Do?

Christ, Caring For People Through People.

After being matched with a person experiencing a life crisis, the Stephen Minister meets with that person on a weekly basis to listen, care, encourage, and provide emotional and spiritual support. The caring relationship lasts as long as the need for care exists.

“I began to feel God's love again.”

—A young woman describes how her caring relationship with her Stephen Minister allowed her to experience Jesus in a personal, tangible, life-transforming way.

Our Stephen Ministry Team

Our Stephen Ministers are members of the church who have received special training to provide confidential one-on-one emotional and spiritual care for people who are hurting.  Stephen Ministers often care for those experiencing grief, loneliness, divorce, hospitalization, disability, job loss, and many other life difficulties.
