Tigard Christian Preschool

Thank you for your interest in Tigard Christian Preschool! It is our goal to help nurture children emotionally, physically and spiritually.  We look forward to walking alongside you and your family in this exciting stage of growth and development in your child’s life.

Welcome Parents

We offer morning classes for students 3 years old through pre-kindergarten.  Applications for the 2025-2026 school year are now being taken.

If you have any questions regarding our preschool, please email Wendy Groeger and Rhonda Rosacker here or call (503) 538-3104.

Our Curriculum

Our teachers use a well balanced curriculum that is developmentally appropriate which may include:

  • The Bible
  • Art
  • Music
  • Math
  • Writing
  • Pre-Reading
  • Science
  • Physical Activity
  • Play

Teachers will provide parents with a monthly calendar and newsletter which will give an overview of what will be taught in the classroom.  Parents should use these resources to be informed and to reinforce their child’s learning activities at home.

Our Teaching Ethos and Beliefs

  1. The experience of doing an activity is of more benefit than the quality of the product produced.

  2. Children learn responsibility and pride by doing things for themselves.

  3. By expressing creativity, children build self-awareness and self-esteem.

  4. Godly values are fundamental to children’s emotional, spiritual, and social development.

  5. The teachers will draw from several curricula as well as using original ideas and materials.  All of the learning activities are based on the listed beliefs above.

Common Questions

If a family is enrolling two children in the school, full tuition will be paid for the first child and a 10% discount on tuition will be given for the second child.

Parents who enroll or withdraw children during the course of the month will pay one half of a month’s tuition if less than half of the class sessions will be attended. If a child is enrolled for more than half of the class sessions during a month, regular tuition rates will be applied.

Tuition can be paid in one yearly payment or divided over a 9-month payment schedule (September-May). If you choose a 9 month payment schedule, tuition is due the 15th day of each month beginning in September.

Newberg Christian Preschool takes great care to help keep students and staff healthy by providing clean facilities, encouraging hand washing, etc.  Parents are asked to help keep everyone healthy by using good judgment and common sense when deciding if a child is too ill to go to school.  If your child is running a fever, he/she should not attend school and must be fever free for 24 hours without medication in order to return.

Children with communicable diseases MUST remain at home.

If your child has any of the following conditions, they should not be at school:

  • Fever
  • Vomiting
  • Nose or eye discharge
  • Onset of rash
  • Stiff neck or headache with fever
  • Weeping or pus filled skin lesions
  • Diarrhea

Parents will be asked to pick up their ill child at the discretion of the teacher.

We reserve the right to refrain from enrolling or continuing to enroll a child whose medical condition warrants special care not consistent with the education and abilities of the preschool staff.
