About Us - Tigard Campus

YOU ARE WELCOME HERE!

Whether you are exploring faith for the first time or have been a Christ follower for years, you are welcome at Northwest Christian Church!

We are people of all ages and backgrounds discovering what it means to follow Jesus. We believe we are called to love our neighbors by serving the community and our church family. We want to help meet needs, have conversations, and discover where people are on their faith journey.

We invite you to “come as you are” and explore what it means to follow Jesus as imperfect people. Northwest Christian Church is a place where it’s okay to be real, even when it’s messy. We welcome everyone and cultivate community by being honest, showing up, and creating spaces for all people to get to know others and Jesus.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

When people think about going to church, they often feel they need to dress nicely on the outside and hide the mess inside, thinking that they have to have it all together to check things out. Here at NCC, we encourage you to be yourself and be casual–-we all have unique stories and experiences, and we all have messes in our lives.

We are currently meeting in person on Sunday mornings at 9:00 & 10:30 am. We are online Thursday nights at 6:30 pm and on Sundays at 8:00, 9:30 & 11:00 am. Thursday evening and Sunday morning services are identical.
  • We’ll get started with some great worship music.
  • We’ll hear a Bible-centered message from Roy Lawson or one of our other pastors. You can take notes in your program or on the NCC App!
  • We’ll take time to share communion together—sometimes called the Lord’s Supper.
  • We’ll have a time of generosity, where you can help support the mission and ministries of the church through your financial gifts, tithes and offerings.

KIDS, STUDENTS AND YOUNG ADULTS

We value family and people of all ages!  We have a nursery for children two and under with fun classes for kids two through fifth grade during our 10:30 gathering. Head towards the Main Lobby to check in your children.  If you’d rather keep your children with you, that’s no problem! They are welcome to join you for worship.

Middle School and High School students are invited to join us for worship.

WHO WE ARE

OUR STORY

OUR BELIEFS

GOD

There is one God, eternally existing in three distinct beings: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and each possesses all of the attributes of God – He is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe and everything within.

JESUS

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is one with God the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is our Savior, who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross for all sin, and was raised from the grave after three days to demonstrate His defeat of sin and death. He ascended into heaven and will return again to earth to reign as our powerful King.

HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is one with God the Father and Jesus Christ. Those who accept Christ as their Savior will receive the Holy Spirit to live inside them. It serves as our comforter, guide, advocate, and provides guidance in living and intercedes for them.

BIBLE

Our foundation is based firmly upon the Bible as our final authority on our beliefs and as a guide to living. The Bible is divinely inspired by God, without error, and given to man so that we may know and understand the truth of God and His love.

SALVATION

Salvation is not something that can be purchased or earned – it is a free gift from God provided by Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and is received through faith, repentance of sin and baptism by immersion. It is available to everyone who accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

MARRIAGE

In the Bible, the view of marriage is that it is ordained by God for the lifelong union of a man and a woman – a union so intimate and real that “the two become one flesh,” as stated in the Bible. As persons, husband and wife are of equal value. In truth, they are one.
