Weekly Update 4.18.24

Wow, seven more baptisms at the Newberg campus on Sunday and a few more are scheduled for this coming weekend! God is good and God continues to move in mighty ways along the 99 Corridor. Nothing gets me more excited than seeing people go all in for Him! I continue to thank God for those who invest in people and in relationships. Thank you God for those who have taught, led, prayed for and influenced those who are making these eternal decisions. My friends, this is Kingdom work and it’s going to last for eternity, so keep praying for more to come to know and follow Jesus. I also ask you to really pray for this weekend’s services. We’re addressing some really hard but critical topics in this Weeds series that we believe can bring healing to a lot of people.

I’m asking for more of your prayers as we approach this tender and hard topic this weekend–it’s about self harm and suicide. Nearly one in six people will self harm during their lifetime and the average age for self harm is now 13 years of age. There’s about one suicide every 11 minutes in America, and for every death there are 25 attempts, so this means there’s an attempted suicide every 27 and half seconds. We just can’t ignore it! And so we’ve been praying that God will protect those who are vulnerable from Satan’s attacks, so they can hear God’s truth over Satan’s lies. We’re praying for people to find peace, joy and the abundant life that they seek and that Jesus promises. Praying for those who have lost friends and family to suicide. Praying for their broken hearts that they’ll be encouraged. Praying for Northwest Christian Church as a faith community, and praying for others who come alongside people who are hurting and struggling. Praying that the holy spirit will speak through them and us, as we speak words of truth and encouragement. Would you please join me in praying for these things? I’m going to ask that you please pray for me; that I would speak compassionately and boldly the message that’s been laid on my heart. There is so much at stake.

I really do look forward to seeing you you this weekend!
