Weekly Update 10.3.24
Hey, church! I’m filling in for Pastor David today while he’s at a conference with some of the staff. They are in sunny Phoenix, where I hear it’s 108 degrees today.
We had a cool thing happen this weekend! We kicked off a new message series called We Are, and the topic was Light. As Christ followers, the Light of Christ should shine through us. The purpose of this light is to point people to Jesus! We were asked to pick 5 people we wanted to pray for to know Jesus, and to write their names on lightbulbs. Families did it together, some in solitude. Our Online Campus community sent in several names as well. Some people were pretty emotional as they thought about those they love who desperately need Jesus. It was moving to see so many writing names and putting their lights into the board – which spells out Everyone! Who is your One? There’s always room for One More in the Kingdom! If you are unable to go to your campus to write the name of your One, please connect with your campus pastor and we’ll add their names. And most importantly, we will be praying for them!
We also kicked off Life Groups yesterday! Our goal is 100% participation in groups. We’re asking everyone to be in a group for 9 weeks. Connect with your campus pastor if you have not signed up yet.
This Sunday is Serve Day! We’ll be serving local schools in our communities by painting, staining outdoor structures, weeding, spreading bark dust and more. Lunch is provided! Please sign up here, or on your app. This is such a great support for the schools, and a huge encouragement as we continue to build relationships.
The Zone started up on Monday, and we are excited to be adding more schools this year! The Zone is a free after school program for K-5th graders at Dundee, Joan Austin, Edwards, and Wascher. Templeton and Newby start in October. Art, movement, recreation, homework help, games, and more are included. If you or someone you know would like to have your children invited in The Zone, reach out to your campus office.
I look forward to worshipping together this weekend!
