Women today face a multitude of challenges, like struggles with insecurity, broken relationships, guilt, overwork or loneliness. Countless women have found peace, comfort, hope, security and answers to life’s big questions by exploring God’s Word. As a group member, you will personally study Scripture and answer questions each day. Once a week, you will meet for a small-group discussion of the lesson, hear from a teaching leader how the truths of Scripture can be applied to daily life and receive comprehensive notes on the Scripture passages you studied.

During our group time together there is an opportunity for children ages 0-5 to participate in our Preschool Program. This program gives children a biblical foundation upon which to build a love for God and spiritual matters. Loving, well-trained and committed leaders teach little ones about God and the Bible in age-appropriate ways.

Each class participant receives a course book with a commentary and home study questions. We will be starting with the Book of Ephesians, then Ruth and Samuel. Each week, you’ll participate in small group discussions and a large group teaching. From time to time, fellowship meals will provide special times of sharing and relationship building within the class. There is also a Children’s Program offered for ages 0 to 9 years old.

Join your NCC-Newberg Women’s Community for small group study as we work through “Lord, I Want to Know You” by Kay Arthur. “So much of our confusion and pain results because we don’t know God — who He really is, and how He works in our lives. When you know God more fully by studying His names — Creator, Healer, Protector, Provider and many others — you’ll gain power to stand strong!” We will gather together for a time of devotion and conversation, then break up into small groups led by engaging facilitators. Childcare will be provided for Nursery through age 5.

DATE: Every other Saturday, starting September 9
TIME: 9:30 – 11:00 am
LOCATION: Tigard Campus
COST: $10 for study book

Together we will be reading the book, “Having a Mary Heart in a Marth World: Finding Intimacy with God in the Busyness of Life” by Joanna Weaver. Each week we will learn from a short teaching video that corresponds to each lesson, along with a study guide questions, discussion and a time of prayer. With her fresh approach to the familiar Bible story, Joanna Weaver shows how all of us, Marys and Marthas alike, can draw closer to our Lord: deepening our devotion, strengthening our service, and doing both with less stress and greater joy.
